Emirates Annual Results.

Emirates Group posted an AED 2.5 billion (US$ 670 million) profit for the financial year ending 31 March 2017, down 70% from last year’s record profit. The Group’s revenue reached AED 94.7 billion (US$ 25.8 billion), an increase of 2% over last year’s results. Passengers numbers were 56.1 million (up 8%), and average Load Factor 75.1%, down from 76.5% last year.

Australian Competition and Consumer Commission gave full approval to the Emirates/QANTAS alliance today whilst placing a caveat that the two airlines cannot reduce capacity on the Brisbane – Auckland, Sydney – Auckland, Melbourne – Auckland and Sydney – Christchurch routes on which they overlap.

ACCC Draft Decision Approves Emirates/QANTAS Tie Up.

Australian Competition and Consumer Commission released a draft decision today granting EmiratesQANTAS permission for their alliance on the Kangaroo route. However the commission indicating that permission will be granted for a five year period and not the ten years requested.
