Boeing 777-31HER A6-EGX departed Paine Field this afternoon on delivery direct to Dubai as EK777. This brings theBoeing 777-300ER fleet up to 76 aircraft.

Emirates/QANTAS Announcement Imminent.

President Tim Clark will be in Sydney on 6th September where an announcement is expected to be made regarding codesharing between the two carriers. The EK412/EK413 Dubai – Sydney – Auckland rotation departing Dubai on 5th September will only operate as far as Sydney in for the Emirates A380 to be available in Sydney for publicity purposes.

Airbus A380 A6-EDW entered service this morning operating EK97 Dubai – Rome Fiumicino. The flight departed almost three hours behind schedule and it is not clear whether A6-EDW was the scheduled aircraft or was pressed into service due to a technical issue with another member of the fleet. The aircraft is confirmed as being configured 14F/76J/427Y without crew rest areas.

Boeing 777-200LR A6-EWF operated EK221 Dubai – Dallas-Fort Worth today however the return EK222 has been delayed overnight. It is unclear whether this is a crewing or technical issue.

Dubai – Sydney – Auckland was operated around 11 hours late this evening  by Airbus A380 A6-EDD. As a result the aircraft will not arrive into Auckland tomorrow in time to be turned around and get back to Sydney before the Sydney curfew. Therefore tomorrows EK413 Auckland – Sydney – Dubai will be delayed until 27th August.

B777-300ER A6-EBG EK343 Kuala Lumpur Delay.

Boeing 777-36NER A6-EBG was delayed for fifteen hours at Kuala Lumpur today before operating EK343 Kuala Lumpur – Dubai as EK343D. It is not clear whether the delay was technical or crew related.
