Emirates Airbus A330-200 A6-EAQ operated a Dubai – Dubai test flight as EK999 this morning operating several passes in either direction along the length of the runway of the Dubai World Centre Airport.

B777-300ER A6-EGR On Delivery.

Emirates Boeing 777-31HER A6-EGR departed Paine Field on delivery direct to Dubai as EK777 this afternoon. This delivery brings the Boeing 777-300ER fleet up to 70 aircraft.

Emirates Temporary Cape Town Reduction.

Emirates today announced that the EK772/EK772 Dubai – Cape Town service will be withdrawn from 1st September 2012 with the service re-commencing on 1st December 2012. The EK770/EK771 rotation will continue to operate throughout the year.

Emirates Los Angeles Service Reduction.

Emirates today removed the EK219/EK218 Dubai – Los Angeles Boeing 777-300ER service from its schedules after August 1st. The EK217/EK216 rotation will continue to operate.

Following its technical issue on 23rd May Emirates Airbus A330-200 A6-EKU operated the delayed EK962 Sana’a – Dubai of 23rd May this evening as EK962D.

Emirates Opens Istanbul Lounge.

Emirates ┬átoday opened a new dedicated lounge for First and Business Class passengers at Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport. ┬áThe 520 square metre facility is the 30th dedicated lounge on the Emirates network.

Emirates Airbus A330-200 A6-EAJ, which encountered a technical issue at Harare on 21st May, positioned Harare – Dubai in the early hours of this morning as EK7766.

B777-300ER A6-EBX Jakarta Delay.

Emirates Boeing 777-31HER A6-EBX operated into Jakarta late last night as EK358 from Dubai however its scheduled return in the early hours as EK359 was delayed until late in the afternoon when it operated as EK359D. It is not clear whether the delay was caused by technical or crewing issues.

Emirates A330-200 A6-EAJ Harare Technical Issue.

Airbus Airbus A330-200 A6-EAJ arrived into Harare today as EK713 from Dubai and Lusaka however the return EK714 has been cancelled indicating a technical issue with the aircraft.

Boeing 777-31HER A6-EGQ Delivered.

Boeing 777-31HER A6-EGQ departed Paine Field today on delivery to Dubai as EK777. This aircraft takes the Boeing 777-300ER fleet up to 69 aircraft.

A6-EBV Returns from Manila.

Emirates Boeing 777-31HER A6-EBV, which encountered a technical issue at Manila on 10th May, returned today operating EK335 Manila – Dubai.

As a result sister A6-EBP, which operated yesterday’s EK334 Dubai – Manila and would normally have returned as EK335, instead positioned Manila – Dubai empty as EK7373.

A380 A6-EEB First Flight.

Airbus A380 A6-EEB made its first flight today positioning from Toulouse to Finkenwerder for cabin fit out.

Emirates Airbus A330-200 A6-EKZ operated Dubai – Dubai as EK999 early this afternoon including several low level passes along the runway of the new Dubai World Centre Airport.

B777-300ER A6-EBF Manila Rescue Mission.

Emirates Boeing 777-31HER A6-EBF positioned Dubai – Manila late tonight as EK7372 and will operate today’s EK333 Manila – Dubai tomorrow as EK333D.

The delay to EK333 was caused by a technical issue encountered in Manila by sister aircraft A6-EBV.

B777-300ER A6-EBV Manila Technical Issue.

Emirates Boeing 777-31HER A6-EBV operated EK332 Dubai – Manila today however the return EK333 has been delayed indicating a technical issue with the aircraft.

Emirates 2011 Profits Drop 72.1%

Emirates announced figures for 2001 today. Operating revenue was up 14.9% to AED62.3 billion however profits dropped 72.1% to AED1.5 billion due to a 44.4% increase in fuel s.

A380 A6-EDD Returns from Maintenance.

Airbus A380 A6-EDD returned to service today operating the EK5/EK6 Dubai – London Heathrow rotation. The aircraft has been under maintenance owing to the A380 wing root issue since 4th March.

Emirates 777-300 A6-EMW Operates Delayed EK5.

Yesterday’s EK5/EK6 Dubai – London Heathrow rotation was delayed overnight and was operated early this morning by Boeing 777-300 A6-EMW. This service is normally operated by an Airbus A380.

Emirates Airbus A330-200 A6-EKU operated EK961 Dubai – Sana’a today however the return has been delayed indefinitely indicating a technical issue with the aircraft.

Emirates Increase Dubai – Riyadh Services.

Emirates today announced an extra three times weekly Wednesday, Friday, Saturday Dubai – Riyadh service to commence on 1st August 2012.

Timings are:

EK819 Dubai 0655 – Riyadh 0750

EK820 Riyadh 0920 – Dubai 1205.

Flights will be operated by Airbus A340-500s.

Emirates Dubai – Jeddah Service Increase.

Emirates today announced an extra four times weekly Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday Dubai – Jeddah service to commence on 1st June 2012.

Timings are:

EK801 Dubai 0155 – Jeddah 0340

EK802 Jeddah 0515 – Dubai 0855.

Flights will be operated by 3 Class Airbus A330-200s.
